I have just recently moved to Knaphill from St Johns Village, not very far I know but it seems that in my street, there are always gangs of youths drinking and hanging around.

Last night I was kept up until 2.30 in the morning due to a very large group of youths fighting, shouting, being distructive and what appeared to be smashing something up!

I called the police only to be advised that someone had already called the police.. They turned up when everyone had quietened down and practically gone home to their parents!

I do wonder why we pay council tax which the police claim a proportion of when they can not get the youths under control.

Since living in Knaphill there have been so many incidents like the derelict building being torched, two people being attacked in Darrys Hut and many more!!!

Do the police patrol the streets to show the community that they are there and are about should we need them and so that the youths can see there are police watching them to keep them in check!?!?

weve had this every weekend for a few years now.unfortunatly when the police move them on they tend to leave sheats heath wreck and make there way out of the estate where we live.some time back i had the wing mirror kicked of my car and yesterday morning sat 30th awoke to find a sainsburrys shopping trolly embedded in the front of my car witch split the bumper and left a hole in it.it happened about 12.40 am one kid was sat in it while the other ran at full pelt pushing it untill it hit my car then they ran off.i cought it on cctv unfortunatly nobody in our house recognises them.so as it is saturday they will start making there way through our estate again from about 20.00hrs heading back to sheats heath and then we will have another fun evening of shouting and screaming and glass allover the place.god i sound like victor melldrew.

These kids need somewhere to be.  The problem being that the residents in the places where they could be don't want them their either.

Well St Johns was no better as there are teens everywhere you go! It seems to have quietened down now so hopefully I can enjoy my new house!

Maybe the trial at the youth centre will turn out to be a good idea and get the kids off the streets!

Thanks for your comments :)

Appreciating that this thread was started in May, it seems pretty relevant in light of the recent crime stats showing Knaphill and Brookwood the second worst place to live for crime in the Woking area.  It is interesting that Sheetwater is 3rd in the list of least crime areas in Woking area despite the  reputation it has of being a place renowned for all sorts of misdemeanant behaviour.  I personally have no evidence to prove that of Sheerwater, but I would be interested to know whether the lack of crime in placeslike  Sheerwater is because of increased police patrols.  In all my years I've lived in Knaphill (just 8), I've never seen a police patrol pass by my door.  Is it that Knaphill and Brookwood is just too far away from Woking Police Station and their next bacon sandwich / cup of tea?

To be honest, I have seen a few foot patrol officers in St Johns as my mum lives there and so I pass by there most days... Goldsworth Park always seem to say they have police patrols in the local papers and stuff but yes definately since I have lived in Knaphill... I too have never seen any police patrol... Maybe this is the reason for the higher crime rates... My road seems to be in a league of its own for crime as every bloody weekend there is drama spilling out onto the street at stupid o clock in the morning... I received a letter saying that my council tax was going up to cover the police funding.. what the hell for???? They dont do anything for the extra money!!!

Well wait a god darn minute! The last thing we need round 'ere is any of them vig-e-lantees running round causing mayhem!  Maybe the Guv'nor of the state will sort out the calvary before it gets outta hand?
