Sick to death of all these things being pushed thru' my front door for me to simply pick up and put straight into the recycling bin. And I then have to pay the council thru' my council tax to take it all away again. Makes no sense at all and complete waste of everyone's time and money. Can't something be done to stop all this junk? I can't be the only one who gets annoyed by it. If somebody totalled up the cost of the council collecting everybody's unwanted newsprint, junk mail, pizza leaflets, and phone books, I'm sure it would come to a small fortune.

I once asked the Council if they had a template of a sign saying something along the lines of "don't you dare, or else" but they didn't. If anyone comes across something on the web, let us all know!

I totally agree with you. I have a NO JUNK MAIL sign on my door and to be honest, as soon as I put it up a year ago, the regular junk mail stopped ... however, Royal Mail seemed to have picked up the gauntlet. Why is it okay for Royal Mail to post junk mail through my letter box?? Often I have no genuine mail but am inundated with pizza flyers, free papers and all manner of other rubbish which I simply throw straight in the bin! I'm probably not alone when I say that delivery times seem to be getting longer ... I now know why! They're so flipping busy sorting out all the JUNK MAIL!

I think that's what we should all do. It's unwanted, we return it to the people who drop it through our doors - simple. They surely can't complain as it is part of their job and is what they are paid to do - collect and sort mail, whereas, we have to waste our time and effort for no good reason.
