So the J Sainsburys extension plan was refused. Have to ask why? Was it underhandedness by J Sainsburys in the way they submitted their plan in the first place. As Ive seen somewhere on here, a big “own goal” by J Sainsburys in making a move for the Cliftons site post demolition. This would have changed many peoples opinions about them So what are we still going to have now A BIG WHITE ELEPHANT?

I don't think it was an error on Sainsbury's part, just that the planning committee [for once] made a correct choice. Knaphill is a village and the need for a megastore in it is out of kilter with that. It looks as though the old library site has been sold off to developers in a particularly sneaky fashion so we'll have a new empty shop and block of flats soon enough.

Re The latest development at Sainsburys about there naming. This is perfect example of how the public view is totally disregarded by large companies and certainly Woking BC on this occasion....... why should we expect anything else these days?
