Why must Woking Borough Council seem so intent in turning our village into another faceless extension of Woking itself??

Looking at the link on the Wordpress re. the old library and according to Barnard Marcus, the selling agent for the site, it seems that the Council, in their infinite wisdom, have given planning permission for a similar structure to that just across the road at Cliftons:

Planning permission has been granted by Woking Borough Council reference: PLAN/2008/0816 for the redevelopment of the site and construction of a mixed scheme comprising ground floor professional services office (A2 use) of 1,700sq ft and six flats (four x2 bedroom and two x1 bedroom flats) on two upper floors together with basement parking, storage and services. I'm guessing the people who work at WBC giving out these planning permissions "willy-nilly" don't live in Knaphill or they'd be the first to object!

Oh well, suppose I'll just have to get used to being a Townie!

Don't remember seeing any notice out the front for the application... Planning officers don't give a damn about destroying a village as long as they meet their targets.

Looking at pictures of how Knaphill was and how it is now is heartbreaking.
