Is anyone in the group living in Alexandra Gardens and sick to death with paying the annual 'ground rent' to Estates and Management Ltd (on behalf of Solitaire Property Management), and the 'service charges' to the company who maintain(?) the communal green areas, which is basically the play area and wooded area between Alexandra Gardens and Lower Guildford Road.  I have heard on the grapevine that Woking Borough Council didn't want to take on or adopt the area when the plans for the development was being considered so there was some backhand deal between WBC and the developer that they would be granted planning permission if Solitaire took on the responsibility in perpetuity for the maintenance. I've seen the annual accounts for the company that maintains the land and of the money that is paid by us residents, 50% goes on trees, landscaping, etc, whilst the other 50% is simply swallowed up in 'administration'.  Seems quite excessive to me.  I would gladly give 50% of what I pay to Solitaire to WBC if only they would adopt the land and end this annual fleecing of residents of Alexandra Gardens.  Any councillors in here want to add their view.  What was that secret deal all about and would WBC ever consider adopting the land?  

I will check up on the maintenace arrangement with W.B.C. that you state and report back.
