A couple of interesting local links:
Old OS map of Knaphill sometime between 1925-1945. http://tinyurl.com/y8pc5bw You may have to zoom in a bit, and there’s a transparency slider beneath the map to get rid of the annoying square in the middle. Clearly visible are the Asylum as well as the Prison and the Barracks. Clearly missing of course are the Hermitage Estate and Goldsworth Park.
This one is a bit more challenging to navigate. 1st Edition OS Map of Surrey, circa 1816. http://tinyurl.com/ydh5vj8 Knap Hill (as it was called) is in the top left corner. Map predates the railway so follow the canal if you get lost. I apparently live in Brookwood Stumps.
And finally there’s http://www.old-maps.co.uk/indexmappage2.aspx A bizarre interface which may not display properly, but there are some detailed maps of Knaphill from 1871, 1873 and 1897. Type Knaphill in the search then select "Knaphill, SURREY". I love the 1871 one with the Brookwood Lunatic Asylum.

Almost forgot. Some lovely aerial photos of Knaphill here: http://tinyurl.com/yh6k9gp Click on the Aerial link in the top left then select "birds eye". Quality is very good (much better than google) and using the icons on the left edge of the maps you zoom in further and also select up to four different views of your house from different angles. Enjoy.

Thanks for the info above....if anyone is interested I have an original copy of the 1910 revision os map of north surrey, which looks similar to the first of your references. I would be happy to scan a section of it and send it to anyone interested....the definition comes out slightly better than this link also. Perhaps the knaphill bit could even go on this site ( copyright expired).....
